The music, can it get any better? Well we think so, just by adding more quality sounds! For those that missed Esperanza Spalding live at the Carolina Theatre, she's here. Peter White, Qunicy Jones featuring Jamie Foxx, Rebecca Ferguson, the Commodores, and Nnenna Freelon with Kirk Whalum and Sounds of Blackness join the mix. Throw in Estelle, Trombone Shorty, Ledisi, Herbie Hancock along with Dave Matthews, Brenda Russell plus new artist Shay.

The old school line up features artists from the Durham Soul Survey including the Upsetters, Johnny White and the Mighty Crusaders and New Central Connection Unlimited(NCCU). We talk with veterans of that camp Oscar Wright and Stanley Baird and get inside information you will only hear on the Creative Colorful People Show.

Cliff Bellamy is back with some great things that are free or low cost to to do for the weekend, Representative Larry Hall helps interpret what really went on in the election, TC brings lots of sports news, and our girl Val Jones has the Mothers Day poem of the year.

Just keep listening and sharing our broadcast with your friends...more chances to win are on the way.

Take care of yourself look out for your brothers and sisters and God will look for you all.

You will find a lot of strings here this week...guitars, bass, violins, violas...from the old school to the new. We didn't forget about the rest of the orchestra, though. Let's start it off with keyboardist Jeff Lorber plus a great collaboration between Ray Charles and John Legend.

Angie Bowfill gets in along with Hiroshima, Meshell Ndegeocello, Robert Glasper and Herbie Hancock with special friends. Esperanza Spalding, Pieces of a Dream, Kirk Whalum, Lala Hathaway, Jean Luc Ponty and Regina Carter round it out for us as well as Alvin Clayton Pope, Third Story, and Jackiem Joyner.

Now it is also about some really old school too..try some NCCU, Duracha, Johnny White & The Mighty Crusaders, The Communicators and the Black Experience Band if you want a sampling of some of the Durham Soul Survey.

Details on some free things to do, TC has sports headlines and our friend Ellie Torre has the 411 on on a great program, KidZNotes, and why you should support their efforts with budding young orchestral artists.

So take a listen; you'll end up really smiling!

Take care of yourself, lookout for your brothers and sisters and God will look out for you all.
